Introduction and Back ground.

Child Focus Uganda (ChiFU) is a Community Based Organisation which was founded in November 2012 by Mrs Nalunga Florence M in response to many mentally/ physically handicapped children /who are greatly discriminated in the community. ChiFU is located at Kasangati 10km Gayaza Rd, Kyankima Local Council, in Kasangati Town Council, Nangabo Sub county, Wakiso District

Our Mission

To restore hope and enable the disadvantaged mentally/physically handicapped children and youth with mild academic disabilities becomes self- reliant through provision of training and practical skills from ChiFU.

Vision

To see the needy, intellectually/ physically disabled children and youth acquire education and practical skills and live a self-reliant life.

Its main objective

Our main objective is to intervene particularly in the health and education sector of these mentally/physically handicapped children/ youth whose lives and education has been greatly hindered by the ongoing discrimination.

Education

we advocate fort their rights and sensitize parents with academically disabled and vulnerable children not to leave their children behind because these children can also turn into very useful people in the society through ChiFU and to provide social economic support to these children

Health

Our programmes address the health needs of the poor and marginalized communities in our community. Some of the key focus areas are reduction in maternal and infant mortality, reducing malnutrition, construction of new and rehabilitation of existing health infrastructure

Live Hood

Our livelihood programming in ChiFu largely aims to contribute to improved resilience and increased adaptive capacities of communities and households to protect their livelihoods over continuing shocks.

We embrace these Children with love and empower them with skills so they can be leaders in their community

Education

ChiFu is an advocacy and action centered organization championing the rights of children in Uganda. The organization works to see disabled children live peacefully and benefit from quality education, enjoy gender violence-free generation, economic security, avoid child marriages and teenage pregnancies and prosper with access to clean water, good health care and nutrition. We believe that changing long-held societal practices and traditions requires a unique approach; and working closely with Parliamentarians to end child marriage is one of them
